The deep ocean is dark. Your fish emits a small light radius that reveals nearby obstacles. Collecting glow orbs temporarily expands your vision radius. In Ocean mode, managing your visibility is crucial — time your orb collection to illuminate dense obstacle clusters.

Shell armor works differently from the standard shield. Instead of absorbing one hit completely, it reduces damage by 50% for three consecutive hits. This makes it better for sustained survival in dense areas but worse for single large impacts from predators.

Night mode reduces base visibility by 70% and removes all ambient light. Only your fish glow and collected orbs provide illumination. The strategy shifts entirely to audio cues and pattern memorization. Top players report closing their eyes briefly to focus on sound patterns.

Maximum scoring requires balancing depth progression with collection efficiency. The formula is: base_score + (depth_multiplier × collectibles) + combo_bonus. At 200m depth with a 10x combo, a single glow orb is worth 300 points. Plan your route to maximize depth while maintaining combo.
